What's so good about the kardashians?

Why make a reality show about them? I mean, I would want to watch a
reality show about paris hilton, since she's so rich and princessy, I
want to see how her daily life is like. But the kardashians aren't
tycoons and they're bad looking except for kim. What's so special
about them that the show became famous? Thanks
